Micro Miniature Art Center

Witness some of the World's Smallest Miniatures

Necati Korkmaz Micro Miniature Art Center and Exhibition Area is not only renowned for the extraordinary artworks it houses but also for its symbolic historical stone building, which is a landmark in Kuşadası. The center consists of three rooms: one dedicated to Gubari calligraphy art, while the other two showcase millimetric micro-miniatures created by Korkmaz over his 30-year artistic career. With its extensive collection, the Kuşadası Municipality Necati Korkmaz Micro Miniature Art Center is one of the richest micro-miniature centers in the world. Among the most intriguing pieces is the “Eyvah Kırıldı” (Oh No, It’s Broken) miniature. This piece, which depicts a fisherman figure in a boat made from half a millet seed, took five months to create. Unfortunately, it was accidentally broken by a falling hair strand, highlighting the immense patience and meticulous care required to produce these delicate artworks.

The World’s Smallest Chess Set

The center’s collection includes 42 fascinating works, such as the world’s smallest Qur’an, the smallest chess set made on a pinhead, a tightrope walker crafted on a strand of hair, the world’s smallest catalog of traditional Turkish calligraphy, and miniature vases with decorations visible only under a microscope. To ensure visitors can fully appreciate these tiny masterpieces, the center is equipped with special microscopes, magnifying lenses, and carefully arranged lighting. The Art Center and Exhibition Area is open for visits on weekdays from 09:00 to 18:00.
