Gazibegendi Hill
A Scenic Spot with Historical Significance
Gazibegendi Hill offers one of the best panoramic views of Kuşadası, making it a beloved destination for both locals and visitors. This hill holds a special place in Turkish history, as it was visited by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of modern Turkey, on February 9, 1924. Atatürk was so taken with the view that the hill was named “Gazibegendi,” meaning “loved by The Veteran,” in his honor.
Today, Gazibegendi Hill remains a popular spot in Kuşadası, where visitors can enjoy a meal or a drink at the café run by the municipality. It’s the perfect place to relax and take in the stunning scenery. The hill also features a free car park, and it’s easily accessible by car or one of the many minibusses (dolmuş) that pass by.
